You Mean There is a Difference in the types of water?

July 16, 2010

The quality of our water is also of extreme importance. Unfortunately, many toxic substances have found their way into our water supply. Some of these toxins include chlorine, lead, nitrates, synthetic hormones as well as traces of urine. Clearly, having a superior filtration system for our tap water is of the utmost importance.

Besides unfiltered tap water, drinking distilled water is also unhealthy for the body. This lifeless water, devoid of minerals, leaches vital minerals from the human body. Bottled water is also potentially unhealthy as it is contained in plastic that can leach into the water over time, perhaps even predisposing us to some forms of cancer. Reverse Osmosis, while it does remove toxic substances from our tap water, strips the necessary, good minerals as well. This causes the water to be more acidic, and more dangerous, to our health.

Pi Mag Water

I personally drink high quality water called Pi Mag Water, from Nikken, which removes over 90% of contaminants and puts the good minerals back through a superior filtration system. This water was developed in Japan after discovering that water from the streams, containing both magnetite and calcium, had amazing effects on the plant life there. Pi Mag water emulates that pristine, naturally-charged water. It is truly the best tasting, highest quality water on the plant! Why not put it to a test? Testing this water against other types of water is best illustrated through kinesiology. Kinesiology uses simple muscle testing to determine what is, or is not, good for the body. I have personally tested tap, bottled, smart water, and reverse osmosis, only to find they tend to weaken the muscles tested. Pi Mag water, on the other hand, consistently proved strong upon muscle testing. This is most likely due to its ability to deliver proper hydration at the cellular level.

Is Ph Important?

July 16, 2010

Our body’s pH is tightly controlled to ensure optimal health. Optimally, our pH should be at least a 7.0, which is slightly alkaline. Anything below that is approaching acidity and may lead to symptoms of ill health. Think about it: If acidity causes symptoms like fatigue, lack of focus, headaches, constipation, and digestive disorders to name a few, then doesn’t it make sense to strive to keep our bodies on the alkaline side?

The pH scale is a scale showing the acidity and alkaline levels.  To maintain good health, the pH scale in our bodies should be at least 7.0.  Anything below that is creeping on the acidity level adding more symptoms to a person’s health.  Think about it! If keeping our bodies at an alkaline level is important and acidity causes symptoms such as fatigue, lack of focus etc., then would it not be in the best interest for an individual as well as a health professional to seek having a person strive to keep their bodies in that alkaline side?

Are You Properly Dehydrated?

July 16, 2010

Every function of the body is regulated and controlled by water. Every single cell, tissue, and organ needs water to function optimally. As you can see, water is such an incredibly important part of our health! The human body is composed of up to 90% water, a percentage which decreases as we age. Keeping our bodies properly hydrated is of utmost importance.

According to Dr. Batmanghelidj, M.D., author of Your Body’s Many Cries for Water, dehydration is at the root of many common degenerative diseases. He explains that just like the physical sensations that tell us when we are hungry, we also have physical sensations to signal when we are thirsty. Unfortunately, we consume so many flavored beverages like soda, juice and flavored coffees that we have most our ability to sense our thirst for water. For this reason, many of us walk around dehydrated. Drinking water throughout the day, before we feel thirsty, is important for preventing dehydration. Drinking quality water in sufficient quantities also helps prevent and heal many ailments. Dr. Batmanghelidj certainly thought so, and he went on to treat and heal thousands of people by getting them to overcome their chronic dehydrated state and stay well hydrated.

Is it important to drink a certain amount of water?  It’s been said that we should drink a gallon, or eight 8 ounce glasses a day. Another suggestion is to take your body weight and divide it by 2 to determine the number of ounces you personally require. These, of course, are generalizations. Your activity level, and even the climate you live in, will influence your body’s demands for water.

Rejuvenating sleep

July 16, 2010

Does it matter what we sleep on?

That is another resounding, yes! What we sleep on is just as important as the amount of sleep we get, and perhaps even more important. The quality of sleep a person obtains will determine the attitude and mental clarity that a person experiences the next day.

I personally sleep on a specialized Nikken sleep system that uses magnetic technology to stimulate the natural energy derived from the earth and sun, allowing my body to obtain that deep, rejuvenating sleep in order for it to function optimally.

Sound Sleep

Sleep is the foundation to a person’s health and is where the body restores itself by repairing and regenerating during quality sleep.  Since sleep is the number one factor in self healing our bodies, and we spend 1/3 of our life sleeping, would it be a good idea to pay close attention to the kind of sleep we are getting? The answer to that is a resounding yes! Most people either have a hard time falling asleep or difficulty staying asleep. These people also wake up feeling tired as if they hadn’t slept at all. How could this be? In order to obtain a good quality, deep, rejuvenating sleep, a person must get into stages 4 and 5 of sleep.  There are 5 stages of sleep, with the 5th stage being referred to as REM, Rapid Eye Movement.  This stage allows a person to obtain deep, optimal sleep known as the dream stage.  It is this stage that the body repairs and regenerates itself.
